William Jefferson Clinton (born William Jefferson Blythe III on August 19, 1946)[1] served as the forty-second President of the United States from 1993 to 2001. He was the third-youngest president, older only than Theodore Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy.
Clinton was described as a New Democrat and was largely known for the Third Way philosophy of governance that came to epitomize his two terms as president.[5]
Clinton left office with an approval rating at 65%, the highest end of office rating of any President since World War II.[12]

Early life
William Jefferson Blythe III in 1950 at age four. Known at the time as Billy, he did not formally adopt his stepfather's name until age fourteen.
William Jefferson Clinton was born in Hope, Arkansas. His birth name was William Jefferson Blythe III. Clinton's father, William Jefferson Blythe, Jr., was a traveling salesman who died in a car accident three months before Bill was born.

Following his birth, in order to study nursing, his mother Virginia Dell Cassidy (1923-1994), traveled to New Orleans, leaving Clinton in Hope with grandparents Eldridge and Edith Cassidy, who owned and operated a small grocery store.[13] At a time when the Southern United States were racially segregated, Clinton's grandparents sold goods on credit to people of all racial groups.[14] In 1950, Clinton's mother returned from nursing school and shortly thereafter married Roger Clinton, who together with his brother owned an automobile dealership in Hot Springs, Arkansas.[15] The family moved to Hot Springs in 1950.
Although he assumed use of it, it was not until Billy (as he was known then) turned fourteen that he formally adopted his stepfather's surname of Clinton. Clinton says he remembers his stepfather as a gambler and an alcoholic who regularly abused his mother and, at times, his half-brother, Roger, Jr.[15][16]

إعجابي بهذا الرجل ليس فقط لأنه كان رئيس أعظم دولة في العالم، ولكن لأنه أحد أذكى رجال القرن الواحد والعشرين، وأكثرهم حنكة وسياسة. فقد تعدت رؤية هذا الرجل لقيادة دولته، حتى أصبح من المنظرين والمفكرين للإنسانية جمعاء.

أثناء محاكمته المشهورة لعلاقته بمساعدته "مونيكا لوينسكي"، ركّز الجميع على فساد الرؤساء الأمريكيين، وانحطاط المجتمع الأمريكي، ولم ينتبهوا إلى أن ما يحدث يظهر مدى قوة المجتمع في محاكمة رؤسائه، وكذلك يظهر أن أعداء كلينتون لم يجدوا عليه من الأخطاء والفساد إلا هذه القضية الصغيرة. وكان طوال جلسات المحاكمة يقود الدولة إلى نجاح اقتصادي، وعسكري، وسياسي، منقطع النظير في تاريخ الولايات المتحدة.

من يتمعن في تاريخ هذا الرجل يجد ما للمرأة من دور كبير في حياته. فقد تربى على يدي أمه، التي حرصت أن يحصل ولدها على أفضل تعليم، وغرست فيه حب الطموح والثقة في النفس. ثم التقى برفيقة دربه "هيلاري"، التي لا تقل عزما ولا إصرارا من أمه في جعل مستقبل هذا الرجل هو الشاغل في حياتها. واستمرت في دعمه وتشجيعه، إلى أن أحتل أعلى منصب في الدولة، إن لم يكن في العالم.

ذاك الرجل حقيقة يستحق التقدير. ليس لكل النجاح الذي حققه أثناء فترته الرئاسية، ولكن لقدرته على الظهور بهذا الشكل البسيط والمتواضع. واعتقد أننا لم ننتهي من سماع آخر أخباره. فمن المؤكد أنه لن يغيب عن تسجيل تاريخ هذا القرن.
